What Is SCIO Biofeedback?
SCIO stands for Scientific Consciousness Interface Operations. Professor William Nelson developed this computerised biofeedback system to measure the body’s responses to different stimuli and use that information as part of an interactive feedback process.
During a session, you connect to the SCIO system through sensors placed on your wrists, ankles and forehead. The system then collects information about your responses and uses this feedback to guide the session.
The technology draws on the principles of biofeedback and bioenergetic feedback. These approaches recognise that the body continually responds to both internal and external influences. As a result, the SCIO system monitors these responses and provides feedback through its computerised programme.
Unlike some conventional biofeedback systems that focus on one physiological measurement, SCIO works with multiple parameters. Therefore, the system can consider a broader range of information as it guides the biofeedback process.
During a SCIO Biofeedback session, you remain comfortably seated while the system collects and responds to information. The programme can also adjust the feedback as your responses change throughout the session.
At Abundant Life, Charmaine uses SCIO Biofeedback as part of her holistic approach to wellbeing. In addition, she creates a calm and supportive environment where you can relax, explore your body’s responses and focus on your overall wellness.
SCIO Biofeedback is a complementary wellness approach and is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure medical conditions.
How Does SCIO Biofeedback Work?
A SCIO Biofeedback session begins with you comfortably seated while the SCIO system is connected to you using sensors positioned on your wrists, ankles and forehead.
These sensors collect information about your body’s responses while the computerised system sends and receives signals through a continuous feedback process. The system monitors how your body responds and uses this information to guide the biofeedback session.
Think of it as a conversation between you and the SCIO system: the system provides a stimulus, observes your body’s response, and then adjusts the feedback accordingly. This process continues throughout the session, allowing the programme to respond to changes in your individual responses.
The SCIO system is designed to work with multiple parameters rather than focusing on just one response. This allows the session to be tailored to the individual rather than following exactly the same process for everyone.
What happens during a session?
Your session takes place in a comfortable, relaxed environment. Once you are connected to the SCIO system, the computerised programme begins collecting and analysing your responses.
The process is non-invasive and painless, and there is no need for injections, medication or physical manipulation. You simply relax while the system works through the programmed biofeedback process.
Charmaine will guide you through the session and help you understand what to expect, creating a supportive space for you to slow down, relax and focus on your wellbeing.
SCIO Biofeedback is used as a complementary wellness approach and is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure medical conditions.
