Podiatry

A Podiatrist is a health care professional that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle and lower leg. A Podiatrist evaluates the problem, diagnoses the reason behind it and treats the conditions and injuries.

Podiatrists can diagnose and treat foot aliments related to diabetes, arthritis and other illnesses. Diagnostic tools include X-Rays, Laboratory Tests, followed by treatment such as medication, physical therapy, orthotics and casts.

The field of podiatric medicine includes biomechanics, sports medicine, geriatrics, paediatrics, orthopaedics and primary care.

A podiatrist can treat many other conditions such bunions, corns, calluses, heel pain, plantar fasciitis, flat feet, hammertoes, warts and more.

It is also suggested that you should visit a podiatrist for preventative steps in foot care, especially if you have chronic medical conditions like diabetes that can lead to severe foot and ankle problems.

By doing this, it allows you to understand and lookout for signs of conditions that can affect your foot and also take steps to avoid any injury.
